Old Business

The summer reading program kicked off on June 1 with 40 participants enrolled. Since then, we have hosted two programs presented by the Macon County Conservation District. On June 17, children participated in a candle-making program presented by T Candles, where they created Stitch candles.

Due to severe weather and storm warnings, the adult candle-making class was rescheduled and will now be held on Wednesday, July 8.

New Business

The Illinois Heartland Library System requires annual board approval to continue offering non-resident library cards. The Illiopolis/Niantic Public Library District utilizes the tax bill method, which is considered the most equitable option for determining non-resident card fees. Board approval is requested to continue offering non-resident cards using this method.

The library received $9,671.04 in tax revenue from Sangamon County.

Adjournment

The meeting adjourned at 5:54 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Shelley Hopkins
