Illiopolis/Niantic Public Library District
Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes
May 26, 2026

The meeting was called to order by Cromwell at 5:38 p.m.

Board members present: Luna, Shanle and Bramel. Librarian Hopkins was also present.
Absent: Adams, Hildebrandt and Pratt.

Approval of Minutes

The minutes of the April meeting were reviewed. Bramel moved to approve the minutes as read. Shanle seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.

Financial Reports

The financial reports for April were presented and reviewed. Luna moved to approve the financial reports with the correction to the month. Bramel seconded the motion, and the motion carried unanimously.

Circulation and Materials

Circulation statistics and newly acquired materials were discussed.

Monthly Bills

The board reviewed the monthly bills. Bramel moved to approve the bills for payment. Luna seconded the motion, and the motion carried unanimously.

Old Business

No old business was discussed.

New Business

Josh Tanner from the Macon County Clerk’s Office called to inform us that their office made an error in calculating the district’s overlapping value in Sangamon County. As a result, the library district received $16,057 more in tax revenue than it should have. To correct the mistake, the county will reduce this year’s tax disbursement by $16,057. An official letter was sent acknowledging and explaining the error.

The library district received $9500 in Illiopolis Replacement Tax funds on May 1.
