Illiopolis/Niantic Public Library
Board Meeting September 25, 2023

Hildebrandt called the meeting to order at 5:31 pm. with the librarian Hopkins and trustees Cromwell, Shanle, Luna, Bramel, Pratt, and Adams present.

The minutes of the July meeting were approved as read. Bramel moved that the reports be approved, Luna seconded it and the motion carried with no opposing votes. The August minutes were approved as read. Cromwell moved that the reports be approved, Luna seconded it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

Financial reports were read for the month of July and discussed. Cromwell moved that the July reports be approved, Bramel seconded it and the motion carried with no opposing votes. August reports were read and discussed. Luna moved that the January reports be approved, Cromwell seconded it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

Circulation and materials acquired were discussed.

Monthly bills were discussed. Adams moved that the bills be approved for payment, Shanle seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

OLD BUSINESS

The parking lot was rocked on August 31 by Tom O'Laughlin Hauling. The last time this was done was in 1999.

Bryon Garner has agreed to build a solution to cover our memorial bench from the bird droppings. He will work on this in the winter months.

NEW BUSINESS

Our system library requires board approval on the service of non-resident cards. We have done the tax bill method as it is the fairest option for a patron who doesn't have local library services. Cromwell made a motion to continue the tax bill method for non-residents, Luna seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

The meeting adjourned at 6:05 pm.
