Illiopolis/Niantic PLD

February 24, 2025 board meeting.

Hildebrandt called the meeting to order at 5:38 pm, with Hopkins, Luna, Shanle, Cromwell, Adams, and Bramel present.

The minutes of the January meeting were approved as read. Luna moved that they be approved. Cromwell seconded it, and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

Financial reports for January were read and approved. Cromwell moved that the minutes be approved. Adams seconded it, and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

Circulation and materials acquired were discussed.

Monthly bills were discussed. Cromwell moved that the bills be approved for payment. Adams seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

OLD BUSINESS

Laura Cation resigned on December 12, 2024.

NEW BUSINESS

The winter reading program concluded with a total of 30 patrons enrolled. Eighteen children and twelve adults participated with a prize drawing at the end of the month.

We are now proud owners of the illiopolishistoryarchives.online database. We have added over 3700 historical articles and pictures, including a substantial collection about the Sangamon Ordnance Plant. In 2021, when the Illiopolis American Legion disbanded, they generously donated $3,000 to the library to use as we saw fit. This will be an ongoing project as we collect more materials to add to the database.

The meeting adjourned at 5:50 pm.
