Illiopolis/Niantic Public Library District
Board Meeting Minutes – April 28, 2025

The meeting was called to order by Hildebrandt at 5:35 p.m. Board members present: Luna, Cromwell, Adams, and Bramel. Director Hopkins was also present.


Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the March meeting were approved as read. Cromwell moved to approve the minutes, Luna seconded, and the motion carried with no opposing votes.


Financial Reports
The financial reports for March were reviewed and approved. Luna moved to approve the reports, Adams seconded, and the motion carried with no opposing votes.


Circulation and Materials
Circulation statistics and newly acquired materials were discussed.


Monthly Bills
The monthly bills were reviewed. Bramel moved to approve the bills for payment, Adams seconded, and the motion carried with no opposing votes.


Old Business
Brenda Shanle and Sarah Adams were successfully re-elected in the April 1, 2025, election.


New Business
In accordance with board procedures, officer elections were held following the general election:

  • Cromwell nominated Hildebrandt to retain her role as President. Luna seconded, and the motion carried with Hildebrandt abstaining.

  • Luna nominated Cromwell to retain her role as Vice President. Bramel seconded, and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

  • Hildebrandt moved for Adams to retain her role as Secretary. Cromwell seconded, and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

  • Bramel moved for Shanle to retain her role as Treasurer. Cromwell seconded, and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

  • Cromwell moved for Luna to retain her role as Assistant Treasurer. Adams seconded, and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

The meeting adjourned at 5:57 p.m.
