COVID-19 closing

After much deliberation, we have decided to close the library to help slow the COVID-19 and to keep our patrons & staff safe. The closure will be in effect from Tuesday, March 17-30. Here is a list of what we will be doing:

    • Staff on a daily basis will still empty the book-drops located at the high school in Niantic & on the front of our building.

    • Holds list & inter-library loan delivery will be processed and patrons will be notified by email or text when material is available for pick-up.

    • We are working on how to get the items into your hands & will offer curbside pickup on days yet to be determined.

    • Overdue fines will not accrue while the library is closed. Area libraries have graciously extended due dates & are waiving fines. You may renew items by leaving a message at 486-5561 or by private message on Facebook.

    • We encourage patrons to check out electronic resources that will continue to be available online through our website & the 3M Cloud Library app.

    • All programming has been been canceled for March along with the board of trustees meeting on March 23, 2020.

    • The library has free WiFi in the parking lot that can be accessed 24/7.

We appreciate your understanding & will continue to monitor and adjust to this challenging situation and look forward to being normal again!
