June 28, 2021 Board Meeting

Hildebrandt called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m. with Hopkins, Cromwell, Shanle, Worrell, Luna, Hildebrant present and Howard and Bramel absent.

The minutes of the April & May meeting were approved as read. Cromwell moved that the minutes be approved, Luna seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

Financial reports were read & approved for the month of April. Worrell moved that the minutes be approved, Cromwell seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes. Financial reports for the month of May were read. Worrell moved that the minutes be approved, Shanle seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

Circulation and materials acquired were discussed.

Monthly bills were discussed. Worrell moved that the bills be approved for payment. Shanle seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

OLD BUSINESS

Summer reading logs were turned in on Friday, June 25 with a planned live Facebook drawing to be done on Wednesday, June 30 at 1:00 p.m. Stats will be provided at the next meeting.

Hopkins reached out to four plumbers to get bids to repair the galvanized pipes and no one has shown up to take a look. She will continue to contact others. Hopkins presented a bid for a water less cooler from Culligan. Pricing is extremely high and not an urgency to have a functioning water fountain at this time. Bottled water will be purchased for the time being.

NEW BUSINESS

Received $3700 from the Illiopolis Corporate Replacement Tax and $23,352.91 from Sangamon County property taxes.

We were awarded $3,293.68 for the FY2021 Illinois Public Library Per Capita Grant that Hopkins wrote.

Discussion was held on goals and the staffs expectations to meet them in order to receive a yearly raise. Hildebrandt made a motion that the board move towards a performance base evaluation for raises. Worrell seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

Discussion was held on holiday pay and early closure for part-time staff. Cromwell made a motion that all part-time staff will be paid for four hours on holidays observed by the library. Worrell seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes. In the case of weather related closure, the employee working that day will be compensated for their normal working hours.

Meeting adjourned at 6:18 pm.
