Board Meeting July 25, 2022
Hildebrandt called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with the librarian Hopkins and trustees Luna, Shanle, and Bramel present. Cromwell was absent. Bookkeeper Mary Ellen attended also.
Mary Ellen talked to the board about our CD. The board agreed to cash it in and put it into savings.
The minutes of the May meeting were approved as read. Bramel moved that the reports be approved. Shanle seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes. The minutes from the June meeting were approved as read. Luna moved that the reports be approved. Bramel seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.
Financial reports were read and discussed for May. Bramel moved that the reports be approved. Shanle seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes. Financial reports for June were read and Bramel made a motion to approve. Shanle seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.
Circulation and materials acquired were discussed.
Monthly bills were discussed. Luna moved that the bills be approved for payment. Bramel seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.
OLD BUSINESS
The movement of the fence was discussed and we are waiting on the fencing company to move a portion of it.
The Per Capita Grant that Hopkins wrote was approved and we received $3,013.43.
NEW BUSINESS
Hopkins reported how she's struggled filling absences the last several months and that a part-time fill-in help was needed. The board approved the hiring of Laura Cation and Marla Judge to help relieve current staff time off.
We received $5,562.20 on July 13 from Sangamon county taxes & $19,102.45 on July 15.
The summer reading program ended on July 22. Book logs will be turned in this week for a chance at prizes and a live drawing will be held on Friday.
Hopkins discussed the current condition of the parking lot. The last time it was rocked was 25 years ago under her direction. Most of it has to be mowed and there are dips in it also. The board told her to proceed with getting bids for it.
