Board Meeting

July 24, 2017

Ervin called the meeting to order at 5:16 PM with the librarian and all trustees present except Hinds. Terri Fleck was present to discuss the gas log.

The minutes for May and June were read. Borowczyk made a motion to accept the minutes and Howard seconded it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

Financial reports were read and discussed for May and June. A motion to table the reports until August so Hopkins can get answers on a Sangamon County Tax deposit was made.

Circulation and materials acquired were discussed.

Monthly bills were discussed. Borowczyk moved that the bills be approved for payment with Shanle seconds it & the motion carried with no opposing votes.

OLD BUSINESS

We are nearing the 4th week of the summer reading program. We have 15 preschoolers, 15 2nd-8th grade and 32 9th-adults signed up. Renea Judd put on a potted planter painting party. She will have a canvas painting party this Wednesday night. She initiated the rock painting and hiding the rocks throughout the two communities. This has been a huge success with our patrons and non-patrons too.

NEW BUSINESS

Terri Fleck presented bids on a gas/electrical log. Borowczyk made a motion to purchase a log from Marx. Hildebrandt seconds it and the motion passed with no opposing votes. Borowczyk made a motion to have D & D Electric do the work for the installation of the TV and log. Shanle seconds it and the motion passed with no opposing votes. Renea is to get prices for the TV & the board will vote on it by email.

Landscaping plans were presented and discussed. The topic will be tabled until the August meeting.

Property tax money was received. Illiopolis-$18,061.46, Niantic-$20,140.91 and Lanesville $4726.97.

The prevailing wage was presented. A motion was made by Hildebrandt to pass the prevailing wage. Shanle seconds it and the motion carried with no opposing votes.

Meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
